SNAREs

Family of transmembrane proteins found on vesicle and target membranes.

They are receptors for SNAPs.

They aid the binding of vesicles to the correct target and are involved in mediation of the fusion reaction.

Examples of SNAREs include: syntaxin and synaptobrevin.
